Help me give my students accessible maker materials (space coding kits, engineering tools, and art supplies) to foster their curiosity and continue to build their passion for STEAM learning!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my class are incredibly inquisitive kids who have passion for STEAM learning. As our school has a newer STEAM program, my students and I are trying to build a maker space area in our classroom that we hope (with your help) will include coding programs, art projects and supplies, and engineering tools. With these items, students will be able to tinker with and explore the materials, as well as design and create their own inventions.
As my class consists of Deaf and hard of hearing students, this project will provide multi-faceted opportunities that can turn their learning into real-life innovative experiences.
Students' drawings will become cartoons and video games, they will be able to build robots and code them to execute different tasks, their writing pieces will become live podcasts and short videos, and additional art supplies and building materials will be used to design and engineer their own creations. We hope that you'll be able to help give our classroom a fun maker space learning area!
