This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our teaching is stuck in the 1800's. Our students’ world is one of virtual and dynamic dimensions. I’m especially worried about our students that do not believe in themselves. They need an outlet and they are stuck. What is better than maker fun?
Maker spaces provide opportunities to engage in hands-on inquiry learning.
Research all around states that students learn better when they interact with the content.
I can remember when I handed ping pong balls, markers, and glue to artistic children and they excitingly made a diorama of the moon phases.
We only have a small window to reach these students. Having the LEGO and K’nex maker tools in hand, will make that happen!
