I have curious, energetic, creative, inspiring, and eager-to-learn kindergarten students in my classroom each year. I lead an organized, focused and differentiated learning environment with access to materials that address each need among various subject disciplines.
At the end of each year, and continuously throughout their educational journey, I want my students to be confident learners, seekers of knowledge and great citizens for our school, their families and the community around us.
I work diligently for each student to be challenged daily and be the best that they can be, where he or she is at, in their kindergarten journey and beyond.
I have 19 full-time kindergarten students and 2 additional developmental students that "push-in" for fifty percent of the day in the school year 2019-2020.
They all arrive with a variety of interests, talents, backgrounds and specific emotional and physical needs. All my students need fluid transitions, a prepared, print-rich, and organized environment, sensory breaks and consistent encouragement to keep them focused and ready for each task ahead. My school is an amazing family of strong leaders and teachers, support staff, parents, and community members.
My Project
These materials will make an incredible difference in student choice, flexibility and engagement. My students are just beginning their school adventure and to have them enter with smiles and know that they will be comfortable and given many appropriate choices to succeed in their learning paths is something I focus on. As I give many interactive tools during center rotations, the tables will provide a place to write or draw ideas while completing specific ELA, Math, Science or Social Studies tasks. The storage bench will not only organize our activities, books or supplies, but it allows for an extra place to read or work with a partner. The comfy stools will be perfect developmentally for these small learners who work well and prefer something different than a traditional plastic chair.
Along with the write and wipe mobile tables with comfy stools, the writing center desk, writing prompt activity, storage bins and stamps will provide such a great place for beginning writing skills and creativity to blossom!
I love how two students and sit side by side and work together! All of these items are a dream come true to complement the incredible learning and minds that fill my classroom each day!
