My Students

My students are the Computer Science students of today, but the tech gurus of tomorrow. Both the girls and boys in our class are EXTREMELY motivated to learn about technology, excited to learn how it works, and eager to apply it to their lives, both now and in the future.

"OH MY GOODNESS.... I GET IT!" is a phrase I hear on a daily basis.

The discovery of what the technical world is and how it works, is mind-blowing for me and for many of our students... and it's addicting.

To lead innovation and solve the problems of tomorrow, we need to create the next generations of inventors, critical thinkers , collaborative creators and lifelong learners. And, instead of preparing for specific careers, we focus on making sure our extremely creative students are future ready by trying to combine hands-on inventing with the rigor of learning objectives.

My Project

mBot is an all-in-one solution for robotics, electronics, and programming learning. The fun shape matched with easy assembly is the goal. Working with mBlock, inspired by Scratch 2.0 (coding language), helps connect computers or smart devices, via Bluetooth or 2.4G. This product is fun, educational and easily assembles within 10-15 minutes. mBot provides infinite possibilities for our students to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) concepts.

These Bots integrate well with the curriculum we use here in class, as well.

They also use the same technology that will be taught using our electronics and circuitry kits. Students will understand the electronics behind their bots, how to build them, and how to program them. It's not just an out-of-the-box product that's already assembled. Hands on learning, coupled with programming, makes for well-rounded, project based, learning.
