Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Chess promotes critical thinking, math and verbal skills. My students are currently learning how to play chess. We have chess class once a week for one hour and have done an amazing job. In 3 chess lessons my students' were already playing against each other. At the end of our class students are always sad that they have to stop and put everything away. I am requesting some chess sets and a carrying bag so that my students could continue to practice throughout the week.

I want to give my students the opportunity to do something they otherwise may not have learned.

Students build their confidence, learn team building skills, and work toward mastering the game of chess. Thank you so much for your help and support.
