Help me give my students a Chromebook charging station in order to help them with Computer Science integration within day to day learning, research projects, and presentations. This will help my students meet 21st century learning standards.
As a teacher in a lower-income school district, with approximately more than 50% of parents facing financial hardship, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. I teach a self-contained class that consists of 6 - 5th grade students with special needs. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences through the use of technology, which they would otherwise not experience outside of the classroom. A chrome book charging station will give us the opportunity to charge all devices in our classroom, keep them safe, and utilize them throughout the day.
Having the Chromebook available and fully charged in our classroom will make it easier to complete assignments, practice our coding skills, and give these students new opportunities to learn through technology; opportunities they may not have at home.
Chromebooks will be used during group collaboration collecting research, organizing information using Google Docs, writing scripts in Scratch, and importing backgrounds. Students will have the opportunity to share their work digitally with the rest of the school community and further their 21st Century presentation skills.
