it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My middle school students are eager learners who love to get creative! We are currently lacking headphones with microphones. Having these will help students listen to audio for listening practice and record oral presentations. I am also looking for help with laminating pouches, markers, and glue sticks, all of which will help me and students create valuable resources for their learning. I teach at an arts-integrated middle school. The budget for arts integration has been taken away for the next school year, putting the burden on teachers to supply art projects.
I want to allow my students to creatively express themselves in a new language through the use of interactive notebooks.
They will be using INBs for daily warm-ups and activities, which require the need for glue sticks, markers, and large crates to store the notebooks. I've noticed that students have difficulty with organization and remembering to bring the supplies they need for class, which is why we need crates for interactive notebook storage. That way, all students have the materials they need for class nicely organized and accessible to them! The same goes with the pack of pencil cases. These will be used for table materials for the interactive notebooks.
I am also requesting lighting since the overhead lights are harsh. I want my classroom to be a calm, soothing environment where students can feel more at home while learning. My students have voiced how they enjoy coming to class because of the calm environment. I look forward to the floor lamps and LED lights to make the space more inviting.
Students can become nervous when it comes to oral exams, which is why I want to provide students with stress-relief toys to help them overcome nervousness.
