Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a demographic area that is rural, comprised of a low socioeconomic class. They attend a school where 89% of the students have free or reduced lunch. However, despite their hardships, they have the drive to succeed in their education.

In addition, despite their economic background, these students strive to become productive, articulate, and responsible citizens.

These students are developing as intrinsically motivated and independent learners. They come from a school where the staff is dedicated to working collaboratively as a professional learning community to ensure that all students receive an education that reflects data-driven decisions, current curriculum, and researched based practices.

My Project

A maker-space is a special place where students can tinker, create, and build a product. The blocks, gears, snap circuits, robots, and Lego chains are the different types of materials needed for this project. The materials will provide the students tools to use to make something. Students will work towards building skills in four specific disciplines-science, technology, engineering, and math.

Students will be able to build and create something new.

At the same time, in having these experiences they will be better equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and decipher evidence, and most of all makes sense of everything. These materials will be used on a daily basis during centers.

Your generous donation will make a difference in my students' learning and improve their school lives for a lifetime. Students will be inspired to be creative, to see how things work, and become better problem solvers.
