My Students

While my students come from different ethnic backgrounds and varying home lives, when we are together, we are a family with the same goals and aspirations of bettering ourselves. The 30 fourth graders that walk into our classroom every morning are full of joy, excitement, and a passion for learning about this great big world.

It is my aspiration to guide them in the proper direction, opening up their minds and their worlds to new ideas, concepts, and experiences, and allowing them to discover who they are as individuals.

My Project

In order to become stronger readers, students need access to high-quality nonfiction texts. TIME For Kids, a classroom magazine, offers real-world content in a grade-appropriate format.

TIME For Kids magazine will enable my students to learn about the world, all while becoming stronger readers!

Having access to this weekly non-fiction magazine will boost reading comprehension, vocabulary, and analytical skills. Each issue includes maps, charts, and graphs to strengthen students' visual literacy skills. TIME For Kids provides alternate reading levels and translations for struggling readers or English Learners, allowing the same content to be taught to the entire class.

In addition to each student receiving a weekly print magazine, the digital resources will allow learning to be taken to the next level! TFK provides videos that pair with cover stories, interactive activities, printables, and formative assessments that can all be accessed online.
