My school is a 100 year old public school located in a bustling urban neighborhood. With a large Hispanic population most of my students come from homes where Spanish is mostly spoken. Many students were born in the US but have parents or grandparents who immigrated from somewhere in Latin America like Mexico and Puerto Rico, but some were born in other countries like the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Honduras. My students love to learn at a school that contains highly-qualified staff that create a wonderful culture and climate in the school. We have great community participation and the administration effortlessly communicates with the parents in their home language.
When teaching social studies I want to improve the quality of what I teach by showing my students images related to what they are learning. My class needs new laptop to show my social students students videos ,and give them internet access. This will also help to help differentiate the lessons I teach my many 3 grade students. Right now I am unable to do any thing with internet or videos, our current device is old and out of date. Right now we have no funds to supply my classroom with updated Technology. I can not do much to show my students anything to enhance my lessons. I really hope you can help us out this year.
