My Project

My students continue to need support in the area of social and emotional skills. They work so hard on academics, they often forget they also need help with their emotions.

Because of that, we make it a priority to provide extra support and instruction in that area.

When students' social and emotional skills are supported and promoted, the academics are also targeted. For example, the chair bands will be used with students who have a hard time staying seated. These bands allow students to get out their "wiggles" instead of causing a disruption in the classroom setting. Students will use the fidget toys as another way work of some energy and engage in grounding exercises.

The requested items will help to maintain our calming area for all students' use. It provides an area for students to go when they need to calm down or need a break.
