Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Music thrives daily at our school. Our school district opened the music program specifically to harmonize music with academics, and the campus serves as a music magnet school not only for the district but also for Riverside County and the Inland Southern California region. All students, from special education preschoolers to sixth graders, have opportunities to experience music theory, music appreciation and critiquing, and music performance.

Our site is the smallest in the district so it's easy for us to be overlooked.

Our students' hard work, however, cannot be missed. Many of them are learning to master multiple music instruments within a school year and their dedication is apparent in the concerts they put on for our community. Our students are active learners who are curious about the world around them; they relish in a challenge.

My Project

Students will be able to choose from a variety of new and exciting library books. "Make Reading Fun" is made up to two different series of books for our K-6 students. One series is chapter books for our older readers, and the other series consists of picture books for the younger readers. Students love finding out that the book they are reading is part of a larger series and they can't wait to read what's next.

"Make Reading Fun" consists of books that will help reach our reluctant and struggling readers.

Our students will enjoy sharing their favorites in the series with their classmates and teachers.
