My Students
My pre-kindergarteners are a group of incredibly diverse, curious, and imaginative kids who deserve an educational experience to match. My students are inner city, high poverty students with ambition. I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch.These amazing kids love to learn together and are a wonderful picture of what our world can be. Although my kids live in very different households, from motels to apartments, to homes, they come to our classroom every day to a stimulating environment in which they can reach their full potential.
They love to learn and I want to explore the opportunity by having all the necessary materials they need.
My students come from different backgrounds and most of them aren't able to access the internet because of the lack of technology in the homes. It would be amazing of I could get all of my students the same materials so that no child is left behind.
My Project
This project will build student interest in books, build their reading and listening skills, increase reading comprehension and help them make connections! Reading aloud to students is an important part of English Language Arts! During read-alouds, students learn to make connections with their own personal lives! With the books in this project, I will read aloud some of my favorite books to my amazing scholars! Students will learn how to compare and contrast books by the same author and books that have common themes. They will also learn different shapes, colors, letters, and sight words in these books. Thank you for increasing student interest in books in my classroom!
