Make Reading at Home Possible for My Curious Kinder Kiddos
My students need a weekly reader to take home to read. Each student will get more than 30+ nonfiction magazines over the school year filled with engaging photos and activities written just for kindergarten.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten students are curious about their natural and social world. You may find them observing butterflies in our milkweed garden, imitating ants as they march in a line across the sidewalk or discussing how to peacefully resolve a peer conflict during recess.
My students love to read about their world in emergent text!
It is common for my students to make connections from their own experiences to information detailed in non-fiction books at school. I would like for my students to be able to share their new discoveries in science and social studies with their parents through a text that they can take home.
My Project
Most young learners are excited to share what they are learning at school with their families. Many of my students want to continue discovering their world through books at home, but they do not have access to non-fiction text. By providing a weekly seasonal reader to each child, he or she can continue their learning at home with the encouragement of their parents.
Educational activities in the Scholastic: Let's Find Out Magazine will support the home-school literacy connection in a fun and engaging way!
I have used this subscription in science and social studies classroom instruction in the past with much success. Unfortunately, my school has dropped the funding for this critical print and digital tool. It is not just a magazine. It is a platform to inspire students, encourage curiosity and relay that anything is possible.
