This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Makerspace is in need of a makeover! We have a great space next to our library for access to research materials but it could use some extra furniture and materials for our students to explore and make our projects more relevant to them.
By using various resources from our library, students will create projects using circuitry and coding that expresses their voice and choice in a room designed with them in mind.
The materials and furniture will be used to add excitement to the room and engage students in a positive and encouraging way. One of our projects will be making circuits with conductive tape and battery packs to make lit-up greeting cards and using motors to power cardboard animatronics. We will use the new furniture to have better access to the tools and materials and be able to better organize our room.
