This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are English Language Learners from different countries. My students enjoy learning new skills. They try their best to learn. They always keep trying to attempt the learning task! They are in a high needs school in The Bronx. They try to learn and succeed in second grade but unfortunately they lack some of the resources they need. The easel will help them learn phonics, reading, sight words and math everyday. This easel will help students improve their fine motor skills by writing. Students will learn visually everyday with this easel.
An easel will help students get a good view of the reference chart of the lesson we are learning about.
The easel will be able to hold chart papers. Students will be able to reference the Math chart, Reading chart in the easel holder. The mobile easel will aid in helping students in all tables. It will be used for math groups, and guided reading groups. The easel will also help students during math because they will be able to see the ten frames used for addition and subtraction. My students love to reference and look at visual charts of what they are learning in reading, writing, math, social studies, science and shared reading. In writing, we will use the ruled lined side of the easel to practice our handwriting skills. I will be able to do shared writing and share the marker with the students to improve our writing skills. The easel will be used for learning everyday in our classroom. The students will also be able to grab math tools that will be stored at the bottom of the easel such as ten frames, ten and ones blocks and counting blocks.
