This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths pure theater." is a quote that I live and die by in my classroom. While preparing for each lesson is important and necessary, keeping my students engaged and happy with the right amount of energy and obvious dedication to my career and students is even more important.
In a classroom of 32 second graders, providing meaningful experiences for each child is paramount.
Every day should be full of both learning and fun while providing an environment providing the safety, love, and confidence each student needs to thrive.
My Project
While our school does currently have carts of Chromebooks, they need to be shared with over 1000 students daily! Last school year, we were able to get our hands on Chromebooks for two periods a week which was amazing! However, there are not enough Chromebooks in one cart to allow each student to have their own. When working on independent research projects, the fairest way to have students spend a whole period researching was to split the class in half meaning that each student was only able to access the Chromebooks once a week.
By funding this project, you will make it possible for each student to have access to a Chromebook at the same time when working on independent projects.
In addition to this, it will be possible that our classroom can have a technology rotation in small group work to aid in literacy and mathematical skills. In this growing digital world, having access to technology in the classroom daily would be truly amazing.
