Make Music and Dance More Magical in Our Classroom.

Help me give my students the gift of music. I am requesting dance scarves, music tubes, a wind chime, guiro, and tone bells. Music and movement are so important and can be incorporated into all subjects!

My Project

I love creating exciting and engaging lessons for my students, and I love blending different aspects of curriculum to support each students individual learning styles.

Kindergarteners love music and they love to move!

Incorporating more musical instruments and movement props into our classroom learning routine will definitely increase the enjoyment of my kiddos as they learn critical concepts including reading, language, and mathematics. The more they enjoy learning, the greater they will want to keep that love of learning throughout their lives!

I am asking for dance scarves, sound tubes, a guiro, a wind chime, and tone bells.

The scarves will be used engage students through movement. We can wave them while we count, or while segmenting sounds, syllables, or words in sentences. Students can use them during performances or to be silly! There are many fun uses in our classroom.

The sound tubes introduce music with concepts of science and sound waves. When students hit the sticks different sounds are produced depending on the length of the stick. Besides science, these can also be used during language arts and math.

The guiro is a great way to teach music, specifically by introducing it during lessons teaching rhythm, and beat. I even remember this instrument from when I was in elementary school! What in impression it left!

The wind chimes are to add an ambiance of calm and stillness to our classroom. While these will definitely be used during music, I would also like them for our daily routine. When I play them the students will know to focus and listen for instructions without my having to use vocal attention signals.

All these musical instruments and dance props will add to the fun and learning in our classroom.
