In our low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I try to give each of these students the support and stability needed to help them reach their goals whether they are social, emotional, or academic.
My students are hard-working and constantly on the move.
They love our academic routine and lots of positive attention. All of the students I work with receive free lunch and suffer from their challenging environments. I enjoy building their confidence to make them well-rounded young adults. From the minute I walk they in the door of their classrooms, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. I enjoy giving my students positive and fun opportunities to learn new things and be successful. These opportunities help to build each student's self-concept which is vital in their academic experience.
The reading comprehension book sets and math manipulatives will give new and fun opportunities to my students to learn much-needed skills and strategies. The book sets will enhance the classroom teachers daily instruction. Use of these materials will put a fun spin on daily activities as students work toward reaching their individual goals.
My students enjoy learning in reading and math through hands-on and engaging experiences.
Receiving these materials will enable me as an ESE inclusion teacher to provide these experiences to my students. I look forward to watching them grow and meet goals that have been set for them.
