Help me give my students the tools they need to learn about math!
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Badessa's classroom raised $381
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach functional math skills to students with intellectual and neurological disabilities. These students are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn about math they can use in real life. These topics include arithmetic, money skills, fractions, telling time, measurement, and word problems they may encounter every day. Gaining an understanding of these topics can be a struggle for students with these disabilities.
Manipulatives are essential to helping this group of students understand these complex and abstract concepts.
These may include pictures, calculators, electronic devices, interactive games, fraction bars, rulers, and anything else students can see and especially touch with their hands.
The level of understanding is clear when students have visuals and tangible objects to help them learn. Please help them gain the critical math skills that life demands for jobs and basic daily tasks including managing money, shopping, cooking, and so many other areas.
