Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kids are amazing! They have so much energy and desire to learn. We do LOTS of creative hands-on learning. Yesterday I heard, “Yes! It’s stations day!” Even 6th graders love to play games and do creative activities in Math! Because I have a diverse group of students, I provide a variety of learning opportunities for their understanding! My kids bring smiles to my heart every day~They deserve to enjoy learning and to be engaged every day in Math class!
My Project
We do math visually, orally, auditorally, and kinetically! I want to make more games, projects and provide other ways to learn math. I print games on card stock and laminate them for future uses. With the dry erase boards, students will have a quick way to practice what we are learning in math. Playing games in math class help the kids to learn concepts without the mundaneness of practice. It helps them socially, emotionally and keeps them engaged in their learning. The other day we were studying the Real number system through a game, Quadash! They have asked to play it every day since learning it. Yay!!
