Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These 6th graders show how passion leads to growth.

Our students are from a vast variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and learning ability.

Despite challenges that they face, these students remain motivated to do their best and continue pushing for excellence. Unfortunately, we have so many students who still struggle with math facts.

One of our math goals is to have all students in our class to be proficient in their math facts before they leave for seventh grade. So much of our math relies on our students being able to fluently compute math facts in order to complete our grade level content.

We want to create a numbers club for our class so students can become more proficient and successful in our learning environment. Obtaining math fact flash cards and electronic games will help us do this.

My Project

As you may know, having math fluency makes the more difficult math concepts easier to understand. With these resources, our class will create a Numbers Club in order to ensure fact fluency for all and give more students the ability to succeed in grade level mathematics.

With math fluency, our students will have more opportunities in their future.

This pertains to their current school year, future schooling, career, and every day life. I truly want every student to leave my class feeling prepared and with more fact fluency, I know we can achieve this goal.
