Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a wonderfully diverse school in a high needs community. We have three language strands at our school: English (which everyone learns), Spanish and Chinese. I am the computer lab teacher. I work with all grades K-5, so I see everyone at the school. I would love to make our school the very best it can be. We have a wonderful school that shows itself it be worthy of your support everyday.
The library has a great tech savvy librarian, a super nice computer teacher (me) for set up and support, an Internet connection and computer and a projector. We need a projector screen and speakers in order to turn the library into a multimedia literacy area that will serve all our students.
If we had a projector screen and speakers, we could show the students how to use the online card catalog and other Internet sites, watch a united streaming video that connects to their learning, listen to music or stories from around the world. It will be so exciting for all the students to have access to multimedia resources! The world will be at our fingertips. As the computer teacher I know of so many websites and resources that could be used in the library. I really hope we can realize this dream!
Your help will make it possible for our students to use the library as a multimedia resource. The librarian or teacher can show them so many wonderful things that will inspire and connect to their learning. Multimedia makes learning come alive and will help our students spark a love of learning!
