The classroom goal is to implement more interventions to support student's ability to monitor progress and improve skills to meet achievement goals. Independent workstations are designed to increase student progress by providing various materials to increase engagement and differentiated instructional methods that meet the unique learning needs of all students.
We focus on teaching students independent learning skills, employability development, and communication skills.
These skills provide learning opportunities for student's achievement. An iPad case will help create an independent learning station. Students will rotate to the station to practice completing the story, identifying shapes and colors, and practicing tracing numbers and letters to improve dexterity and comprehension.
The materials support students' ability to integrate their senses and be more adaptable to focus on learning tasks. Each student uses different strategies to provide sensory input neurologically, improving the student's ability to focus on learning tasks and develop skill growth. The Crayola Spin and Playfoam Pluffle are two other examples of sensory tools that bring learning to life in our classroom.
Play is an integral part of early learning. Our students may be in middle school, but cognitively, many of them are still early learners. Help us make learning more meaningful.
