Help me give my students a greater remote learning experience and access! With an extra monitor and iPad, I will be able to provide better instruction from home in ways I haven’t had the chance to yet.
Creative, energetic, spontaneous, caring - these are just some words that describe the 22 children in my class, even through one of the most unfortunate school years of our lives. Though we are strictly remote, my first graders enjoy coming on Zoom every day, motivated to learn and share new academic experiences with each other. These students come from diverse backgrounds and have their fair share of struggles whether it be learning English, receiving hot meals every day, or just being able to get through day to day learning without interruption. My students are persistent, and they try their best in everything they do, and I hope to provide them the best school experience I can possibly give them.
My Project
Remote instruction has become the norm for my first graders. Being that these are their first experiences of school, through a pandemic, and having to be home for the majority of the day, I want to ensure that I provide the most engaging and fun learning experience for them!
These are students that have been placed in fully remote learning in NYC, and as their teacher, I want to be able to support them in ways their parents won’t be able to.
With an extra monitor and an iPad, I can share more with the students, monitor their engagement with lessons, keep track of their understanding, and also model through online resources. With the help of extra technologies, I can make learning GREAT and their love for school unmatched.
Every day I have one student remind me that they miss “outside school,” and it breaks my heart to not be able to provide them that experience for them from home. With these resources, I will be able to create a learning environment that will make them much more excited to log on every day. I hope to provide more opportunities of me modeling through an iPad, being able to show my thinking, and share more virtual experiences through different applications.
My goal is to provide a lasting impression of knowledge being the greatest tool to have. I hope to showcase the new way of learning to be more exhilarating and engaging for my students. I want to be able to support my students and their families through social-emotional conversations and academic assistance.
