My Students

It is hard to think of a world without technology, yet my students do not have access to many of the technological resources available to their peers. Please help us update our classroom with computers.

I teach first grade at a charter school in New York.

My students are an energetic bunch that come from diverse backgrounds. I want to give them every opportunity that they may not always get due to lack of resources. My students are eager to learn and have a comfort with technology given that they have grown up with it.

My Project

Even having one computer in the classroom would not only modernize our classroom, but also motivate and engage students in their learning. A computer offers endless resources such as educational websites, online resources, worksheets, videos, and programs for typing and creating documents. Students will be able to learn how to use a computer while practicing the skills we are learning in class.

I want to give my students every opportunity that they deserve.

Just because a school or a community lacks funding or resources does not mean that students should suffer. I want to incorporate technology and make it prevalent in our classroom.
