Help me give my students fun and engaging games to play during math and reading centers, as well as math manipulatives to use during whole group instruction.
I am a first-grade teacher in a low-income, high poverty school. Although my students have faced obstacles, they are always eager to learn and enjoy hands-on activities.
I enjoy implementing new engagement strategies and materials to challenge my students and make their learning meaningful.
I strive to provide my students with a safe and loving atmosphere where they are willing to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them. I encourage my students to dream, believe, and achieve.
My Project
All students want to have fun while they are learning. These games will allow my students to practice skills, while being engaged during reading and math centers. When my students are engaged in their center activities, it allows meaningful learning and connections to be made.
The math manipulatives will be helpful to my concrete learners.
This will allow for students to have a hands-on approach to visualize what we are learning. Students will learn through doing rather than just watching, which will allow them to take more ownership of their learning. When my students feel successful, their confidence grows.
