My Students

"I love school!" is my favorite phrase to hear from my students in my special education classroom. Watching my students getting excited about learning were one of my favorite moments about teaching. Having fun while we are learning is exactly what makes learning interactive and our job to be satisfying. Working in a special education classroom in a group of 10 students ranges from Kindergarten to 2nd grade can be tough. We need to make learning interesting, unique and different so we can work on the student's fine motor skills, social skills, communication skills, gross motor skills, and many other skills at the same time.

There's so much we want to do for the students to make learning fun and special but we're limited in our financial ability to achieve this goal.

I work with students with a variety of disabilities including down syndrome, emotional disability, reading disability, dysphasia, speech or language disability, ADHD, and etc. Needing to get creative with doing the repeated skills or learning a new concept is always a challenge. With your support, I'm hoping to create more excitement and memories in learning for my students.

My Project

Magnetic whiteboard, magnetic letters/numbers, counting box, writing scrips, etc. All these unique and special materials will help to make learning FUN for our students with special needs! For example, the use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and Language Arts. During Language Arts, each student will have a whiteboard to write out their answers and to share their answers with each other. However, the regular whiteboard does not have the option to allow students with fine motor skills or students who can't write to share. With the magnetic whiteboards, the students can easily build words using my magnetic letters!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus for students with special needs, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Make the daily tasks to become a welcoming and engaging tasks! Make writing, reading and math to become their favorite subjects!
