This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Please help my students that love to learn but need some extra support! My school district is considered highest poverty and we can't get funding for technology and hands-on learning materials.
I want to give our 2nd graders stimulating and fun learning resources to use in the classroom.
Almost all of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of our students do not have access to learning materials and resources at home. I want my classroom to be a fun and exciting learning environment.
My Project
In pervious years, we would get a subscription to Scholastic News but it can be expensive for parents and teachers to purchase for a whole class. Our students love these magazines and all of the fun activities that go along with it.
This year, we would like to supply these News and Science magazines to both 2nd grade classes in our building.
These magazines include monthly themes and current event topics that the students can learn about that is appropriate for their age and grade level. The students look forward to receiving them every month!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
