My students need an overhead projector and screen.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Smith's classroom raised $403
This project is fully funded
I teach seventh grade English in Mississippi. We were greatly impacted from Hurricane Katrina. Many of our students have relocated to our area because of the losses caused by the storm. Our school has seen significant growth. I teach students that range from the intellectually gifted, to students with specific learning disabilities.
Many of the students are new to our school because we are a feeder school for junior high and many have moved to the area because their houses were destroyed in the storm. Through generous donations, many school supplies were donated after the storm. We are getting back on our feet. Progress is slow but we are on the road to recovery. Generous donors gave us paper, pencils, pens, and basic school supplies. However, there are things that would make learning more meaningful that are hard to replace. These things involve technology.
An overhead projector and screen would help the students to take notes and better prepare them for the learning experience. I would save time from writing on the board that I could be working with students giving them more one-on-one time. It would make learning time more meaningful to have the notes already written ahead of time and the participation time for the students greater.
Your help will ensure that my students make the most of the learning time. It will make it possible for me to spend more time with them, responding to them and having meaningful interaction with them so that quality learning takes place.
