My Students

Technology is implemented in my classrooms nearly every day. Whether they are looking at the Smart Board for interactive activities, videos, and exercises, or are using tablets to play math games that reinforce newly learned skills, my students greatly benefit from the technology that is made available to them in the classroom. It keeps them readily engaged, and makes learning fun!

As a math enrichment teacher for students, grades 2nd through 5th grade, I search for the best technological resources for each varying age group.

My classrooms are unique in that every day I am practicing a new math skill with students in a way that will provoke further understanding outside of the typical math lecture. As part of one class, students were able to see visual math models of fractions and look up math definitions through an online math dictionary.

My Project

Attending this summit would afford me the opportunity to connect with teachers throughout the United States and thereby broaden my professional network. Through engaging conversations with these fellow educators as well as the information I would acquire from this seminar and interactive workshop, I will have new knowledge to bring back to my students to enrich their learning experience.

Technology is important to engage students and my hope is to learn how to promote math education together with technology in real-world situations, whether solving a problem or thinking about a new way to learn creatively in our school environment.
