This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students come from low-income neighborhoods and attend a 100+-year-old school with very old facilities. They know they do not have the best when it comes to facilities, but I would like to give them the best materials possible!
They want to learn, but do not always have the most current resources that will help them be successful.
These students span from 9th - 12th grade, and typically struggle with science. They deserve to have the best tools available to help them achieve academically.
My Project
Understanding molecular bonds can be the hardest part of chemistry for many students. These kits will give my students the ability to quickly assemble compounds based on their shape and structure.
Students can actually feel the attraction between atoms!
Magnets within the atoms provide for the attractive "bonding" force that students can feel when they snap together. This is far more user-friendly (and more accurate) than the old ball-and-stick model.
Each Snatoms X Complete Kit includes 26 Hydrogen, 12 Carbon, 6 Oxygen, 4 Nitrogen, 2 2-sided Sulfur, 2 6-sided Sulfur, 2 3-sided Phosphorus, 2 5-sided Phosphorus, 2 Bromine, 2 Chlorine, 2 Alkali Metal, and 12 Double/Triple Bonds.
