Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Recognizing the different coins in our currency and their values as well as using coins to pay for items can be confusing for third graders. They want to make sense of their money, but at this age they need practice working with money to do so. Unfortunately working with actual money is not a possibility for our classroom. So the next best thing to each of my students receiving a bag of loose change is the requested assorted Lakeshore money games and digital resources that will be purchased with the requested Teachers Pays Teachers gift card. These items will help my littles develop their math skills in adding coins as well as making change.

Fun money folder and board games, money flashcards, and digital resources requested in this project will give my students the practice they need to recognize coins and their values, part of the foundation needed to become financially literate and making sense of our currency.
