Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year I am teaching Digital Literacy and Tech for the first time. My school is in a low-income urban area serving students from K-5, who are predominantly African American and many students speak English as a second language.

This year I really hope to help the students develop digital and tech skills that will be useful beyond virtual learning.

My students are on a variety of levels academically. They work hard and they are excited and eager to learn. Having such a wide range of academic levels in one room, we need to use various methods to provide support. We will spend this school year growing as individuals socially, emotionally and academically.

My Project

Being a specialist teacher I have over 400 students sharing the same space throughout the week. We do our best to keep it clean between each class but our floors are neglected. In this project, I am asking for donations for a wet and dry mop to help us keep the floors clean.

A clean room makes for a happy class!

Since most of our work is done on computers and I teach using a smartboard, we spend a lot of time looking at screens. The light covers will help create a more comfortable atmosphere for my students.
