My Students
My students love to learn. However, a large number of them lack the resources that you and I had when we were children. They love playing games and this game helps reinforce everything they learn throughout the year and shows them that school can be fun!
My students are amazing.
I teach in a school that is located in a very low income neighborhood, so a lot of the students go home to single parent families and do not receive the love and support that they need. Many of my students will tell me stories of how they heard shots last night or of the bad things they see and hear on the streets. It is sad, but that is the world they are used to. Our school is a safe harbor for them and as teachers, we are here for them. They know that we will do anything for them and for that, they will do anything for us. I love each and every one of my students, good behavior or bad. But they do not receive the educational support they deserve when they head home. I try to make learning fun. That way they view school as a positive, rather than a negative.
My Project
I am asking for 1 Classroom Jeopardy set. We learn a lot of new material throughout the year and this activity set will help the students master what they learn. Playing review games helps them during their end of the year testing. Think about it: Jeopardy consists of over 50 questions. You tell the students they are going to do 50 problems and they will become upset. But if you put those 50 questions in a game, they will love it and most of the time they want more questions! Jeopardy is an excellent teaching tool!
By donating to my project, you are helping students see the positives in school and how school can be fun and engaging.
My students really do love to learn and I want them to be excited everyday they come to school. This is possible with your help.
