This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I need the scientific calculators to help make high-quality math education possible.
I teach Math 2 and Business Math.
For both classes, students will need scientific calculators to help them for complicated calculation, such as figuring out the maximum area you can enclose with limited materials, or the monthly payment for a loan. We tried to use alternative calculators, but either students got distracted by electronic devices, or the calculator is not designed for complicated calculation like this. The professional scientific calculators would definitely benefit my students to pursue new math ideas and acquire math thinking skills.
