Although this may seem like a small classroom item, it has made a huge impact on my high school math students.\r\nBecause of your kindness, every student now has the tools they need to participate fully during our problem-solving lessons. The moment the markers arrived, my students were excited to finally work without worrying about dried-out markers or sharing supplies. Now they can show their thinking quickly, make mistakes confidently, and try again without hesitation—something that's so important in math.\r\nThese simple markers have transformed our daily routines. Students are more engaged, more willing to collaborate, and more eager to explain their reasoning. The instant feedback I can give during whiteboard practice has already strengthened their understanding and boosted their confidence.\r\nYour donation has helped create a classroom where students feel supported and capable. With your help, we received a full class set of calculators that are already transforming the way my students learn math.\r\n\r\nMany of my students are familiar with technology at home, but they don't always get to see how it can be used as a learning tool. Having calculators available for every student means they can now practice using technology to explore and solve problems, not just guess or give up when math feels overwhelming. Instead of being slowed down by long calculations, they can focus on understanding the bigger concepts, building problem-solving skills, and checking their work with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been the independence these calculators give them. They love being able to work through problems on their own and know that they have the tools to support them. Lessons have become more engaging because students are more willing to take risks and try challenging problems.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who used to feel very discouraged during math, has especially warmed to using the calculators. With this new resource, he participates more, tries multiple strategies, and proudly shares his answers with the class. It's been amazing to see his confidence grow.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has provided my students not only with calculators but with the confidence and excitement to approach math in a new way. We are so grateful for your support in helping them grow as learners.","fullyFundedDate":1746498672713,"projectUrl":"project/calculating-success-empowering-students/9147266/","projectTitle":"Calculating Success: Empowering Students One Button at a Time!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9937153"},{"teacherId":5974129,"projectId":8663939,"letterContent":"All of the supplies have made a huge impact in my classroom. Firstly, I was able to implement more social emotional learning lessons into our weekly routine. For example, students can anticipate using the conversation cards to have more meaningful conversations with their peers.\r\n\r\nStudents have absolutely loved using Tapple, the board game. They loved it so much they request to play it often. Students who otherwise wouldn't participate or talk to the people at their table, are now engaged, brainstorming answers, and laughing alongside their peers. \r\n\r\nLastly, the emotions tapestry is displayed in my classroom and I'm so glad I went with an extra large size because students see a visual representation of their feelings being displayed on the wall. It helps combat the stigma of all the emotions human beings are capable of experiencing on any given time","fullyFundedDate":1730419696113,"projectUrl":"project/big-kids-love-stations-and-games-focused/8663939/","projectTitle":"Big Kids Love Stations and Games Focused on Mental Well-being","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moreno-Hughes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5974129_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1569615926077","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/morenoteacher"},{"teacherId":9748003,"projectId":8778298,"letterContent":"The scientific calculators in the classroom has significantly increases the equity for student learning in my classroom. I was lacking a class set of calculators and my school couldn't afford to buy enough for the entire department. Now, thanks to all of you, my students can use these calculators to perform both simple and complex concepts. For example, students can focus more on understanding principles rather than being bogged down by manual computations. The technology also enables them to visualize and experiment with mathematical models, improving their problem-solving abilities and fostering a deeper comprehension of abstract concepts. This access to technology has leveled the learning experiences for all, allowing every student to engage in a more hands-on, practical, and equitable way.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the new calculators is the ability to tackle more complex, real-world problems with greater ease and precision. It empowers them to solve equations that would have previously seemed daunting, giving them a sense of accomplishment. This sense of empowerment is especially noticeable among students who may have struggled with math in the past. For example, students who previously lacked confidence in subjects, like algebra or geometry, are now able to see the immediate results of their work and quickly understand where they may have gone wrong, which builds their self-esteem. This newfound confidence can inspire them to pursue higher-level coursework and careers in these fields, further benefiting from the opportunities the technology provides.","fullyFundedDate":1727997842779,"projectUrl":"project/calculating-needs/8778298/","projectTitle":"Calculating Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9748003"},{"teacherId":9741997,"projectId":8760943,"letterContent":"Your contribution has been bringing a positive impact to our students over these past few months. Every tuesday, my students are teaching each other how to solve the rubik's cube, others are working collaboratively on 500 piece puzzles, and some are just looking for a place to hang out and kanoodle.\r\n\r\nBefore doing DonorsChoose for my students, they were looking for alternative ways to fundraise and receive resources for their club. I had heard about DonorsChoose from colleagues of mine and decided to go through with it without telling my students. When our project was fully funded, I informed the club officials of DonorsChoose and what resources would be present going forward. Many of them were filled with excitement and sent a remind message saying, \"We have a HUGE surprise\" to all club members. When the materials finally made their way to the classroom, the club held a meeting. All of the students were joyful, excited, curious, and grateful.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students on this current project is to set up a Rubik's cube competition that will be held at our high school for all members of our community to attend. I was nervous about teaching trigonometry to my math 2 students because calculators are a must when working with trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, and tangent).
