My Project

I’m excited to start my 14th year teaching ELA at a new school. When my 7th graders enter my room, I want them to see my love of reading. I want them to know reading can be fun and it doesn’t require large novels to be considered reading.

To help draw in my reluctant readers, I’ve selected books in verse, graphic novels, and non-fiction that have great illustrated covers.

I want my students to learn what materials they prefer. I want them to explore new genres. I want them to be able to lose themselves for a moment in a different world.

I also want them to participate in class discussions about their reading, so I added two packs of buzzers to use during games. We learn best when we are having fun!
