Make for Good to Fight Loneliness and Self-Doubt!

Help me give my students all the materials they need to make birthday cards for clients of our local Meals on Wheels organization and the iron-on vinyl students need to finish capes for kids in domestic violence shelters!

My Project

Our Make For Good Compassionate Makerspace has two active service projects right now, which both strive to show our neighbors near and far that they are loved and not alone! The paper crafting materials requested allow students to create handmade birthday cards for the more than 450 clients of our area Meals on Wheels organization; these cards are sometimes the only recognition of a birthday these vulnerable senior citizens receive, and are so important in order to support their continued mental health and overall wellness, given the toll loneliness can take on physical health. The iron-on vinyl we've requested will help students complete handmade capes that they've sewn with fun and sparkly designs; these capes are distributed to domestic violence shelters and help young children staying at the shelters to know that they have the inner strength to move past their traumatic experiences and be their own heroes, supporting their mental health and well being.
