Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class is filled with a lot of joy and excitement as soon as we walk into the classroom! My kindergartners are so special because they share the joy of curiosity and learning when we are together. They are very supportive of each other's learning styles and abilities. At our school, we empower students to be accountable for their actions by encouraging them to always try and do their best and lead by positive examples. It is always nice to see the students support each other with encouraging words like, "It's cool," when a friend makes a mistake, and use their communication and social skills to express how they feel to others.
They enjoy laughing and being silly, but they also know how to work hard.
These young minds will always brighten the day because they are always so excited to learn new things. They enjoy new activities and using technology whenever they are given the opportunity to do so. They are a great group of kids who make our world a better place with their kind hearts and curious minds. These children are special because they face many challenges, but they always come to school excited to learn.
My Project
The Dash and Code & Go Robots will be a fun way to encourage and inspire kindergartners to learn more about coding. Students will begin with learning what coding is and how it works through the use of these robots. Working with these coding tools will also help students learn to collaborate together with their peers.
After learning to code these robots, the students will use their understanding of coding to create literary stories that they can retell through the use of these robots.
Also, math standards will be made more engaging when using these robots as they show their knowledge of geometry and number sense skills.
While students are enjoying their coding tasks, they will also be working on their communication skills as they collaborate and present their ideas to their classmates. This is a great way to encourage future 21st century leaders!
