The requested supplies will ensure students have a clean working environment and help them stay engaged in the Gifted classroom. It is important to create a classroom environment that is welcoming, clean, and comfortable for all students to learn.
Maker Space is a hands-on activity center for our gifted students to explore and create.
Students are given challenges to build the tallest skyscraper or the longest roller coaster from only the materials provided. Students are able to be creative and think critically as they build independently and in groups. They learn to work alone and how to work with many types of people. They learn to lead and follow in group work. These skills are vital for our future leaders and business people. We want them to all be successful. The glue sticks, pencils, googly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaners, beads, hot glue, and popsicle sticks, are all a part of our Maker Space. Fishing line is used to hang work from the ceiling, and hair dryers are used to dry our paint projects.
Clorox wipes and spray, paper towels, and a mop will help keep our germs to ourselves and our areas clean with trusted brands. Students should be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. When teaching real-world skills, basic cleaning should be included. Students will be able to clean up after their projects, muddy shoes from recess, and eating snacks. The dehumidifier will also keep the air cleaner and prevent student work and posters from falling off the wall during our humid months.
Maker Space supplies dwindle very quickly, so we are requesting refills to replenish our Maker Space. Additionally, students learn to clean up after themselves, hence the cleaning supplies. Thank for helping to develop my students' creativity and real-world skills!
