I have 24 creative fourth graders who love to design and create their ideas.
They are motivated and love to explore new opportunities. My class is willing to reach beyond their comfort zone and explore new ideas. They love to participate in school activities and are active members of our 'Leader in Me' program.
My Project
I am constantly creating new projects and challenges for my students. In addition to teaching them about Utah history this year, I want to incorporate computer design and 3D printing. Students will work with other students in class to create an invention that would've made life easier for the pioneers entering the Utah valley. They will ultimately print their invention on the 3D printer I have requested. Teachers shouldn't stand and only lecture in the classroom. It's our role to teach our students how to make and create. The projects I use in my class allow the students to do just that. As a result of these projects, my students are able to teach others what they've learned. They will share their projects with their Kindergarten buddies and teach them about what they've learned.
