My Project

Allowing the students to be celebrated not just for academics, but just for being born is a great way to exhibit that we care about the whole child. Wearing the birthday, glasses, crowns, bracelets and stickers will bring them a sense a pride and maybe even confidence if just for 24 hours!!

Lots of them come from families that may not be able to afford food, school uniforms, or even funds to celebrate their birthdays.

Too many of them have endured unthinkable situations that no children should ever have to experience.This year I want the students in our building to feel loved and acknowledged beyond the classroom. I want all the students to know that we not only care about their education but we care about them as people too.

The students are special to me because they are resilient and eager to do well. The majority of them come from low-income families and qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch.
