This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am teaching a wonderful, diverse, second grade class. It is a team teaching class. It consists of children that are struggling and needs more attention. It is a public school in a high needs community in the Bronx. Most of my students come from low income families and live in shelters.
Some of my students are children who are struggling to read and write.
Some of my students read at Kindergarten level. One thing that my children have in common is that they love to read.
My Project
The use of wipe board, markers, erasers and mats, paper protectors are used daily in my class. The wipe boards are especially helpful when teaching math. It helps students share their work and solve problems. Wipe boards also make it easier for me to see their work. It is a fun way to teach and keep students focused. When ever I ask my students to take out their whiteboards they get so excited to do their work.
By donating to our project you will bring a familiar tool into their home and help them to increase their academic achievement.
It will make them get excited to do their work and focus on the task given.
The mats will be great for when we do group instruction and for social distancing as well for keeping things sanitized. The paper protector will protect the work from getting damaged and sanitized. Please help us during this uncertain time to be the best we can. My students and I appreciate your generosity Thank You
