Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a title 1 school. Most of the students in my class are newcomers or have limited English though born in the country. They are hardworking and strive to meet the standards. They have persevered as some have even been detained at immigration borders. I want them to fill fulfilled with their learning and have a memorable and meaningful 2nd grade experience! What makes these students special is their love of learning and wanting to come to school!!

My Project

By having bean bag chairs, floor chairs, and carpet for reading, my students will have a calming space to go. This corner will not only be an engaging place to read but a place to go if a student needs to calm down during a difficult time. These students will have a great year if they items are added to their classroom! Thank you in advance and any little thing will help make a difference in these kids lives. Calming corners have proven to help students be more successful in school because it allows to have a "quiet" place to breathe.
