Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are in ninth to twelfth grade. I teach AVID, a college prep course, and sponsor Student Council. We encompass a large variety of learners, including English language learners. They continue to meet and surpass expectations.

These students are hard and dedicated workers who push themselves to achieve excellence under the toughest of economic circumstances.

They come from a low socioeconomic area and overcome obstacles that many students their age can not even imagine. They continue to amaze me in their dedication to education and the community at large.

My Project

These items will go along way in helping to create our project based classroom. I am a firm believer that you need to incorporate all 3 levels of learning in a classroom in order for students to be successful. We will use the kraft paper for larger group projects to be displayed in the school. We are a moving class, so the stools are easier and take up less room when joining a group. The cordless glue guns will come in handy with these projects without having to worry about cords and space. Finally, my students do not have printers at home. I have a large printer in m y room that is used for papers and print projects. That is what the toner will be used for.

All of these items are essential in finishing our school year strong and successful.

I want to make sure the learning experience stays with my students and is not just short term memory.
