it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over half of the population of students at my school consist of traditionally underrepresented and/or low-income students. I am a proud National Board Certified Teacher and need to maintain my National Board Certification by continuing to learn how to better support my students and raise their achievement levels. The recertification process is helping me gain a deeper understanding of my students and content knowledge of Art, as I am an Art Teacher. I am also furthering my knowledge on how to use data, assessment strategies and how to implement them in the classroom, and how to improve my teaching practice. Moreover, I am continuing to learn how to participate in learning communities and collaborate with colleagues. Additionally, I am reflecting on my practice and seek continuous learning. My students will continue benefiting from me being a National Board Certified Teacher because research shows that students learn more with Board- certified teachers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
