This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! Most of them have been at the school since kindergarten, and our school is special because we can really develop a close relationship with each individual student as they grow up.
As a school with a bilingual program, students are immersed in rigorous instruction in both English and Spanish!
There are numerous benefits to being bilingual, and students work very hard to access the curriculum despite it being a challenge. We have both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant speakers, which means that 100% of our students are second language learners!
My Project
My students are 6th graders and while they may not seem so little, having so many in a classroom can also lead to some unwanted dirt and germs from outside. We also have the occasional mishap of a spill or some stain on the rug/floor that happened by accident.
As a result, we need the tools to combat this moments to maintain a clean space in the classroom by having a vacuum handy to rid the dirt from our rug and keep our tile floors clean.
Students will learn and understand the value of keeping their space organized and clean to ensure the best working environment.
