My Students
Our students represent a vibrant and diverse neighborhood in Denver. Northwest Denver, or "the Highlands" as realtors like to call it, is a rapidly growing area. Our classroom community represents the hardworking, multi-generational families and new wave of professionals moving to the neighborhood. The sense of growth is palpable in our community.
My students this year are a hardworking and diverse group of individuals.
Teaching math, social, studies and science to 70 fifth graders means each day is full of new opportunities for growth and challenges.
My Project
The organizational materials that I am requesting will allow each of my students to have a "home" for all of their materials. Since we switch classes for language arts and mathematics, it is imperative that students keep their materials in one place. Having a mailbox for each my students will allow them to keep all of their materials in my classroom. It will also allow me to return student work as soon it is finished being graded. Students will know where to find all of their materials and their graded work.
Having a place for each student to keep their materials will allow class to begin right away.
No minutes will be lost in searching for materials. Students will get their materials, grab a seat, and be ready to begin. Minutes are often lost in passing out materials and getting ready to work. With the addition of student mailboxes for every student, all of these lost minutes will be given back to instruction time.
