Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school and most of our students receive free or reduced lunch. The school district is located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood made up of many different cultural communities with the majority of students speaking Spanish as their primary language. Our classrooms are overcrowded with over thirty students in each class. Still, students remain positive, happy, and eager to learn!

Having taught here for about fifteen years, I see the students craving more hands-on authentic experiences they might not have access to in their home lives.

My particular group of student is a fun and curious bunch. All 30 of my students this year are ELLs, and are Bilingual English/Spanish speakers. They are constantly asking questions and are always seeking new topics to discuss in the classroom.

With the right learning tools, I am confident we can help these young innovators achieve great things that extend far beyond the classroom!

My Project

This comprehensive set of Magna-Tiles including the Magna-Tiles Starter set, Magna-Tiles Master set, and Magna-Tiles Car Extension set will be a great tool to help us build our STEM learning station in the classroom. Magna-Tiles are magnetic geometric figures that can manipulated to created structures, vehicles, and pretty much anything a student can think up!

These Magna-Tiles are a versatile and fun tool that can be used many ways for various topics within the STEM universe.

Magna-Tiles can be used to explore architecture, engineering, mathematics concepts, and more. It is important to allow our students true hands on learning manipulatives to foster creative and analytic thinking and growth. Students would love these Magna-Tiles for the classroom!
